Just looking for attention it seems.1
Katy, I really don't give a crap that you kissed a girl. Big deal, get over it, and stop trying to get attention. Real men don't care, and aren't turned on by your immature antics. The music stinks too. But your silly attempts for attention to sell cd's is really the most disgusting. I hope you sink like a stone to the bottom of the pond.
And the lesbian that wrote a similar opinion to mine is dead-on....it's crass commercialism and sickening.

Truth or Dare...?2
I am not a homophobe, but I just have two comments about this mediocre pop song:
1) Between this song, Pink's U + Ur Hand, and countless Hip-Hop "like it from behind" references, it's virtually impossible to listen to the radio today without exposing preteen children to some form of inappropriate overt sexuality.
2) How many young girls will be inspired to "experiment" this summer based on the pop culture validation of this song?

Katy Perry and her Musical Experimentations3
My buddies are obsessed with this and I really can't help but think it's because it's about a girl kissing a girl... and that's it.

The pros I can give this song is a catchy chorus, the song is written fairly well if a bit over repetitive. It's not my style but I definitely see why people love it. Unfortunately for Ms. Perry, (and as another reviewer noted) this song has no endurance, I don't think it will be popular in five years and most people will probably have forgotten about it. It's the flavor of the month, cherry chap stick flavored.

I don't really care for her voice all that much either and I prefer female vocalists. But if you've heard the snippet and like it, then get it. Music is very subjective and even though I and others don't like it lots of people will.
